Bring the original document with a photocopy:

  • Lebanese nationals: Valid Lebanese passport + valid German residence permit (Aufenthaltserlaubnis) — mandatory for all; or recent Individual civil registry record + valid German residence permit; or Lebanese ID card (new model) + valid German residence permit
  • Palestinian nationals: Valid travel document + valid German residence permit; or Palestinian refugee ID card (issued after 1993) + valid German residence permit

You must also provide the attorney's full three-part name, complete address, phone number, and a photo of their identity document.

  • General POA: 2 witnesses must be present with their Lebanese identity documents
  • Real estate sale POA: Copy of the property deed + real estate certificate (not older than 3 months)
  • Bank POA: Copy of bank booklet or bank statement showing account number and account holder's name
  • Car sale POA: Original car logbook (Fahrzeugbrief)

The Embassy organizes the following types:

  • Civil status: Marriage, Divorce, Permission to travel, Extraction of civil status documents, Civil registry re-registration
  • Banking: Open a bank account, Deposit / withdrawal of funds, Full bank account authority
  • Real estate: Purchase and registration of property, Full property authority
  • General: Comprehensive (absolute), Judicial for an attorney-at-law
  • Other: Receipt of entitlements from the Lebanese Ministry of Emigrants

Per the official consular fee schedule effective 1 March 2026 :

  • General power of attorney: € 88, for each principal
  • Special power of attorney: € 44, for each principal
  • Cancellation (revocation) of a general or special POA: € 66
  • Certified true copy of a POA drawn up at the Embassy: € 36

If the POA specifies a monetary amount, an additional proportional fee of 1 per thousand (1‰) of that amount is charged, up to a maximum of € 2,750. See also the Consular Fees page.

Fees are paid by Instant Bank Transfer only. After the Embassy confirms the applicable fee, include the applicant's full name and the power-of-attorney type in the payment reference (Verwendungszweck) and keep a copy of the transfer receipt. Cash payments and on-site POS payments are not accepted.
